Sea Hags on St. Pete Beach Closes It’s Doors

Sea Hags Will Be Closing Their Doors After 15 Years of Service

After a remarkable journey of almost 15 years serving the community, Sea Hags is set to close its doors for the last time on Sunday, June 4th, 2023.

Tucked away on Blind Pass Road, Sea Hags has long been a local favorite. It’s a place to celebrate, unwind, and savor delicious dishes while taking in waterfront vistas.

Sea Hags manager, Evan Carpenter, acknowledged this inevitable shift, stating, “Unfortunately, due to the new developments and whatnot here in St. Pete, a lot of the smaller businesses are getting pushed out.” But, despite this tough reality, Evan assures us that the team is staying strong, especially for their regular patrons, adding, “We’re all staying strong until the end and staying here for the regulars, mostly.”

Despite the prevailing sadness, there’s a beautiful spirit of camaraderie among the Sea Hags crew as they navigate this bittersweet moment. One of the servers, Mallory Chernesky candidly shared, “I was sad we have a really good crew here and we all get along and there’s just really good comradery and it’s kind of hard to find in the restaurant industry.”

On a lighter note, for anyone wondering about Socks, the cat that calls Sea Hags home, rest assured that he’ll be well taken care of. The Sea Hags team is making sure Socks is relocated to a loving home and are raising funds for his food and vet bills.

As we approach Sea Hags’ last day, regulars are making it a point to enjoy one final meal or drink at their favorite spot.

We don’t yet know what will replace Sea Hags once the land they occupy is redeveloped.
