3RD ANNUAL LIONFISH SAFARI ON ST. PETE BEACH
Mark your calendars, grab your friends and family and head over to the Guy Harvey Outpost for the 3rd Annual Lionfish Safari and Family Fun Day on September 9th, 10th and 11th. Join us, along with Reef Monitoring, Inc., the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, as we force these Lionfish out of our waters!
This yearly event is a weekend full of fun for the whole family! In an effort to rid our waters of this beautiful yet dangerous and invasive species that eats everything that they can fit into their mouths and stomachs, this two part event is comprised of fishing tournament with cash prizes followed by a family fun day for all to enjoy.
Following the tournament on Sunday, RumFish grill’s chef will offer lionfish samples, there will be a cookout, drink specials, music, beautiful marine photography, and more fun for the whole family!
Lionfish Safari Information
Cost: $35 Per Person
Awards: This event will present cash prizes to the winners of the following three categories:
- Most Lionfish: Cash prizes for most lionfish – 1 st, 2nd and 3rd place
- Largest Lionfish: Cash prize for largest lionfish (by mass) – 1 st , 2nd and 3rd place
- Smallest Lionfish: Cash prize for smallest lionfish (by mass) – 1 st , 2nd and 3rd place
Captains Meeting: The captains meeting will be held on the evening of September 9th
Tournament: This will be a TWO-DAY event. Diving day will be Saturday September 10 th 2016 and the weigh-in and Family Fun day will be Sunday September 11 th 2016. There will be no rain date for this event and absolutely no refunds. In the event of small craft advisories, Reef Monitoring recommends no divers go offshore. In that case, we will still raffle all prizes at the Family Fun Day on Sunday.
