BUSINESSES - HELP PAGE!!!

In addition to the main navigation column on the left, and the page header navigation above, the "Businesses" page adds another level of choices right in the middle of the page, only this time, they're all businesses and they're all located right here on St. Pete Beach and ONLY on St. Pete Beach. You can select a business category by clicking on the underlined red text beneath the cartoon picture or just click on the cartoon itself. Either way, you'll be taken to a page devoted exclusively to the types of businesses you've chosen.

Businesses Categories...

The "Businesses" page contains every business on St. Pete Beach. This is the most comprehensive list of local businesses available anywhere. We know because we walked the entire island and cataloged and photographed every single one of them. If you've got a storefront business, you're listed here. From giant resort hotels to the coin laundries, they're all here. To make it easier to find what you're looking for from the over 400 businesses on our small island, we've divided them into general categories. They are Accommodations, Restaurants, Bars and Nightlife, Recreation, Shopping, Health & Beauty, Transportation and "Other". These general categories will continue to evolve as time goes by. To further simplify things, each category is divided into sub-categories.

Sub-Categories...

Accommodations are further sub-divided into Resort Hotels, Motels and Inns, Vacation Condo Rentals and Annual Rentals. There is even a sub-category for Pet Friendly and for Green Accommodations. Restaurants are sub-divided into Fine Dining, Casual, Fast Food, and various Ethnic Foods. The Shopping sub-category contains everything imaginable from Art Galleries to Home Furnishings to Liquor Stores and Pet Boutiques. In each category and sub-category, there is a "Show All" button so you can choose to show all of the businesses in each category, no matter how many listings. For example, all restaurants without sub-dividing them into smaller groups. There's even a link at the bottom of the "Businesses" page where you can click to see every business on St. Pete Beach. It's fun to see, but be patient. That's a lot of data to download all at once.

How to Use the Maps...

Once you click on your chosen sub-category you see a map with all of the businesses in that sub-category. Say you've chosen "Restaurants" as a category and "Seafood" as a sub-category. The map will have pins to mark the location of every restaurant on the island specializing in seafood. Click on either the name of the restaurant or the location pin on the map and a small pop-up will give you the restaurant's name, address and phone number. Some have even more information including a photo and brief description of their business, a downloadable menu and perhaps even their website address. Click the Satellite button on the map and get a bird's eye view of the restaurant you've chosen. You can move the map or satellite image around by simply clicking and dragging it. Zoom in and out with the gadget on the left of the screen or by double clicking on the map.
