August 2010, Barb Scian, Friend & fellow member PAGWC
Ruth was an inspiration to me at the Woman's Club and I relied on
her for advice many times. She had such class and was a true "lady."
She had a strength and integrity, but always communicated in a soft
and gentle way - she exemplified the values we hold dear for how to
treat others. She was so proud of and close to her large family and
spoke of them with love. Ruth helped me to understand how to be strong
and gentle at the same time, a truly gracious person. God bless her
and her wonderful family.
May 2008, Andi McDonald, Friend
I met Ruth through the Woman's Club and grew to love her because of her kindness,
intelligence, wit and good humor she shared with a new member in
2005. Recently, my husband and I moved into the home of her cherished friend
Mary Pfeffer. When I shared that with Ruth, she wrote me a note saying how
close she and Mary had been and that she missed her dear friend every day since Mary's
passing.
I thought to myself how lucky Mary was to have such a friend, and hope I can follow Ruth's
example, cherishing my friends every day as she did. And now it is my turn to
think of Ruth every day.
From Cleo Robertson, Friend
The first time I met Ruth she was in the midst of telling everyone what their
jobs were for a luncheon setup. She was always calm, always had an answer and always had a
smile on her face, even if she were delivering someone a harsh message. She taught me how
to blend grace with grit; how to get things done without rancor; and how to be a friend.
She is sorely missed.
